Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. Accessing Grand County Court Docket means accepting these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Grand County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It is kept within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, server systems may automatically receive these technical details:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure which pages are used and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Grand County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It publishes general directions to Utah Courts Xchange and to the separate District and Justice Court clerks in Moab. Visitor data is not assembled into third-party case profiles or consumer reports. This private resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is subject to the partner's policy rather than this policy. Each partner decides how it retains or shares data, so review its terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Utah court and clerk pages, Xchange, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. The destination's privacy policy governs after a visitor leaves this resource. Review it before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so protection against every breach cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A report that a minor supplied data will be reviewed and the material deleted where appropriate.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Utah privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights in addition to the choices described here. Utah court-record access is separately governed by UCJA Rules 4-202.02 through 4-202.10. GRAMA applies to Grand County administrative records but does not replace the judicial request process. At a minimum, you can:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This privacy policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revision becomes available here with a new effective date, so visitors can review the current terms.

Effective date: September 7, 2026
